Weekend Escape at Naupaktus “Ναυπακτος”

Ναυπακτος  is a small seaside town 18 kilometers away from the city of Patras,my hometown, and almost 2 hours away from Athens, the capital of Greece.

Naupactus or Nafpaktos or Ναυπακτος  in Greek is an ideal weekend getaway for you and your friends for couples or family trips. I feel myself lucky enough to be there with my lovely sister and my mother. It was a girls “sunday funday” and it was amazing!!

From its castle  on the top of the mountain you can see the whole town, the fields and the sea spreading all around.

Nafpaktos is a great place for getting more sociable.

Its small harbour is full with  coffee places and bars where you can enjoy your coffee (preferably freddo capuccino) or drink, a good company and the view!

For the fiew of us who are a little bit introvert and they like being on their own i totally suggest reading a book with this amazing view.

If you have some free time i would suggest you to drink some greek “ouzo” and eat some “meze” before you continue for the sightseeing of this amazing small town.

After your small coffee break or lunch you can continue by visiting the “Thervantes park” and the other side of the coast castle.

For my muslim friends i would suggest them to visit also the Fehriye cami which is located  exactly at the end of the coffee’s streets. It is on my right side.

On the other side of the coast castle you can find people swimming and sunbathing.

Nafpaktos is very famous for its nice and clean beaches. You can choose between free and camping friendly or organised beaches with bars and coffee places..as you can see in the video below.
